Ben Good - Chief Executive Officer

Ben Good is an engineer with 20 years’ experience in the renewable energy and utility sectors. He has undertaken a range of senior operational, commercial, financial, and corporate finance roles with various businesses and projects across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Ben joined us from D1 Oils plc, the UK-listed renewable energy business with interests in India and southern Africa, where he was CEO. He has a degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University.

Simon Collings - Director of Learning and Innovation

Simon Collings has worked in the development sector for more than 20 years. He was at Oxfam for sixteen years then moved in 2003 to become CEO of Resource Alliance, a non-profit working to strengthen the fundraising capacity of civil society organisations globally. Simon has a particular interest in business based solutions and social investment models. He has travelled widely and worked with non-profit, public and private sector organisations in a variety of international contexts.

Peter Weston – Director, Investment Advisory Services

Peter is an expert in renewable energy, with 20 years of experience as an investor, lender and strategic adviser. He is a non-executive director of social investor Thrive Renewables and a board member of the NGO Renewable World. He was previously global head of finance and investment for two power equipment suppliers – Siemens Wind and MAN – and led GE Capital’s European energy lending team. Peter has a BA in Economics and Politics from Warwick University.

Larry Edevbie – Head of Finance

Larry joined Energy 4 Impact in April 2016 as Head of Finance responsible for financial reporting to SMT, board and partner organisations. Before joining us he worked in the international development sector for a number of years, most recently at the Africa Governance Initiative (AGI), an international development organisation promoting good governance in Africa. He is a qualified accountant and member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Alessandra Moscadelli – Head of Communications

Alessandra is a communications professional with 15 years’ experience across the media, public relations, stakeholder, marketing and brand mix in the non-profit sector. She is responsible for producing multi-lingual communication strategies, advocacy, awareness and promotional campaigns, and for managing external relation activities. Prior to joining Energy 4 Impact she worked for a range of human rights, development and grassroots organisations. Native Italian, she is fluent in English, Spanish and has a good knowledge of French.

Leah Kaguara - Africa Regional Director

Leah is a development and management practitioner with 20 years of experience and expertise in the humanitarian and development industry. Prior to her current position, Leah was the Africa Region Programme Director at Energy 4 Impact. Leah has previously worked with World Vision International in various capacities in programme management within Africa. Most recently she worked as the Kenya County Director for Veterinaries Sans Frontiers Belgium in which she provided strategic and programme leadership.

Collins Munene - Deputy Regional Director

Collins Munene has fifteen years’ experience working with NGOs, international organisations and the public sector in operations, financial management, accounting, auditing, strategic planning, management and analysis. Prior to joining Energy 4 Impact, he was the Head of Finance, Governance & Operations for Kimetrica International, a social enterprise whose mission is to increase the effectiveness of spending in the social sector.

Nathalie Rami - Programmes Director

Based in Nairobi, Nathalie oversees all programmes across East and West Africa. Prior to this, she managed Energy 4 Impact’s Business Development activities for four years. Before joining us she worked as a Project Development and Grant Manager for a NGO in Haiti on projects related to water and sanitation, health and energy and was also involved in supporting the fund raising capacity. Native French, she is fluent in English and has a good knowledge of Spanish and Arabic.

Shashank Verma – Head of Advisory Services

Shashank has a total of 15 years of experience, out of which 10 years of entrepreneurial & consulting experience working in the decentralised clean energy space in East Africa & India. He has advised clean energy access entrepreneurs on their business and fundraising strategies, and also given feedback on investor pitch materials, business plans & financial models. Prior to Energy 4 Impact, Shashank worked with Pamoja Cleantech, a Uganda based mini-grid company. He has an MBA from Oxford University.

James Maillu – Country Manager, Kenya

James has 15 years of practical work experience in Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) development, particularly with international development organisations in East and West Africa. He has specialised experience in business development services, designing, reviewing and implementing micro finance programmes as well as organisation capacity assessment and organisation development. Before joining us James was working with TechnoServe as a Senior Business Advisor.

Julius Magala – Country Manager, Uganda

Julius Magala has many years of experience in market development for renewable energy in East Africa, spanning several sectors; solar PV technology, sales force management, creating distribution networks, credit management, skills development and partnership building. Prior to joining Energy 4 Impact he worked with a SolarNow, a solar hire-purchase company in Uganda as a regional manager and as a business consultant for Rural Energy Foundation.

Adam Mbwambo - Country Manager, Tanzania

Adam William Mbwambo is a professional in Rural Energy, Solar Energy Businesses and Access to Credits; Microfinance Management and Project Management. He is a trainer and workshops/seminars facilitator and speaker. Adam has previously worked with local and international organizations in water, solar energy, education, health, microfinance and other energy sector projects in Tanzania. Prior to joining Energy 4 Impact, he was the CEO and Country Project Manager, St. Mary’s Foundation in Tanzania.

Herbert Njiru Nyaga - Country Manager, Rwanda

Herbert Njiru is a Micro Finance Professional with over 10 years’ micro finance experience in Kenya, South Sudan and Rwanda. Prior to his appointment as Country Manager, he spearheaded the process of linking entrepreneurs to financial institutions for access to capital at Energy 4 Impact. Herbert has worked with Rwanda Microfinance Ltd in Kigali and has experience in business development services, product development, and management of micro finance programmes, mentoring and capacity building.

Louis Seck - Country Manager, Senegal

Louis Seck has over 20 years’ professional experience in policy, science and renewable energies. Prior to working for Energy 4 Impact, he was the West Africa Coordinator for the Climate Parliament. Former Director then Minister of Renewable Energies in Senegal, Louis set up the Senegalese policy on renewable energy and coordinated projects on power generation and rural electrification.
