Katrina Pielli joins Energy 4 Impact’s Board of Trustees

16/06/2020

Energy 4 Impact announced in June that Katrina Pielli has been appointed to their Board of Trustees. The appointment further strengthens the organisation’s governance and leadership.

Ms Pielli has been a driving force behind energy and climate policy in the US, Africa and the Middle East for 15 years. She has a strong track record of developing innovative programmes and forging effective public-private partnerships that make a global impact.

Katrina has held an impressive portfolio of positions both inside and outside government. Whilst at USAID, she led a wide range of international development programmes, including Power Africa’s off-grid program, the Scaling Off-Grid Energy Grand Challenge, and the Smart Communities Coalition (co-led with Mastercard). She has  spent a considerable part of her career  in the US government working on energy and environment issues: at the Agency for International Development, the Department of Energy, the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency.

In taking up her position as board member, Ms Pielli said:

I am thrilled to be joining the Energy 4 Impact Board of Trustees. It is a unique time globally in which the critical role energy plays in achieving our climate, development and economic goals cannot be understated. The work Energy 4 Impact does to support and enable businesses to deliver sustainable energy solutions is key to achieving a cleaner, resilient and more prosperous future for everyone.

Welcoming Ms Pielli to the Board, Anthony Marsh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, noted her world-class expertise in the energy and climate policy sectors:

She will be a great addition to our team as we lead the organisation through an upward trajectory in these unprecedented times. Katrina will help to ensure we continue to meet the challenges and opportunities of expanding access to clean, affordable energy in Africa.
