Sheila Oparaocha joins Energy 4 Impact’s Board of Trustees

Sheila Oparaocha, the International Coordinator and Programme Manager of the ENERGIA International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy, has been confirmed as the newest addition to Energy 4 Impact’s Board of Trustees.

Sheila has seventeen years’ experience in the gender and energy sector.  She leads the ENERGIA International Secretariat hosted by Hivos International, where she coordinates a portfolio of programmes spanning 12 countries in Asia and Africa for the ENERGIA International Network on Gender and Sustainable Development. She is internationally renowned for her work on advancing the role of women in energy and has spoken publically and advocated widely on this subject. 

She also provides technical support to ENERGIA’s activities on women entrepreneurship development, international policy advocacy, gender audits of energy policies, gender mainstreaming in energy programmes, training of trainers and practitioners, research and case study development, network building and knowledge management. 

Sheila is a member of the Advisory Board of the Sustainable Energy for All Partnership.
