Energy 4 Impact shared knowledge and experiences at the Women’s Energy Entrepreneurship: A Workshop on Empowering Women Entrepreneurs and Scaling Access to Energy, held on 14-16 February in Nairobi, Kenya.

Organised by the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves and the wPOWER Hub, the event brought together key stakeholders to discuss women’s energy entrepreneurship and explore the role of gender-informed approaches that scale access to energy, as well as increase gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Participants at the event comprised practitioners, researchers, policy makers, donors and entrepreneurs who shared challenges, lessons learned and best practices.

The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the latest research, innovative approaches, and technological solutions, as well as provide an opportunity for strategic discussion and planning to fill critical gaps.

Energy 4 Impact’s Capital Access Coordinator Sammy Kitula gave a presentation on the Empowered Entrepreneur Training, providing business skills, empowerment, and leadership training curricula and tools to better support women sales agents and entrepreneurs.

Energy 4 Impact has integrated the Empowered Entrepreneur Training into its business development curriculum, which encompasses entrepreneurship, empowerment and technology. We offer this service to women entrepreneurs in a bid to increase the suitability and profitability of their businesses,

- says Sammy.

Energy 4 impact collaborates with wPOWER in implementing the Women Integration into Renewable Energy (WIRE) Value Chains programme.
